Zulu Grey Thin Rough cuts

$120.00

(Price is for 1 (one) thin rough cut hone only). These are roughly cut hones with a large usable honing surface (around 9 or 10 inches) but are of inconsistent thickness (and are mostly thin – around half an inch). Great value for money, as the thickness is still plenty considering that the Zulu Grey is a very hard/dense stone, and that with normal use will still outlast you (and probably your son too).

(The image shown to the left is for illustrative/reference purposes only – this is not the exact stone you will receive – rather it is an example of the size and general appearance of the product.)

Quarried by hand in small numbers, the Zulu Grey is a unique, indurated sedimentary rock formed over 200 million years ago in the late Permian Period in the province of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The stone is quite hard, exceptionally strong and dense. The Zulu Grey whetstone is quarried for its ability to impart a smooth final shaving edge on Straight Razors, however it would be equally effective at finishing a wide variety of fine-bladed tools and instruments. The stone is of course a natural product and as such each hone has an inherently unique appearance.
